The GCB German Convention Bureau represents and markets Germany as a destination for conventions, meetings, events, and incentives both on a national and an international scale. It is the first point of contact for companies, associations, and organisations around the world planning business events in Germany.
Acting as a connector to the wide range of German event service providers, venues and destinations, the GCB provides hands-on advice and support to event professionals in all industries and organisations. To bring maximum value, quality and customisation to each meeting and event hosted in Germany, the GCB also helps hosts and attendees leverage the country’s deep expertise in sustainable meetings and key industries such as pharmaceuticals, finance, automotive, logistics & transportation, and technology.
Driving innovation as well as actively addressing industry trends and different future scenarios lie at the heart of the GCB’s work. To further promote these topics, the GCB has, for example, launched the open innovation platform “Response Room” in 2021 together with PCMA and the IMEX Group. In 2015, the GCB – together with the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering IAO – initiated the innovation network “Future Meeting Space”. Its key goals are to develop a vision for how people will meet in the future and provide event professionals with practical, hands-on tools to help them stay ahead of the curve.
The GCB’s approx. 150 members represent over 300 businesses and include leading hotels, convention centers, destinations, event agencies and service providers of the German meetings and conventions industry. As Strategic Partners, Lufthansa German Airlines, Deutsche Bahn (German Railways), and the German National Tourist Board (GNTB) support the work of the GCB. The IMEX Group is the GCB’s Strategic Exhibition Partner.
The GCB’s website www.germany-meetings.com is the central content hub for detailed information and latest news on meetings made in Germany, tips for sustainable meetings, and forward-looking research results from, for example, "Future Meeting Space".
